A better comparison with what we're doing now is swatting at a hornet's nest, never a good idea.

True enough - if your intent was just to hit the hornets that had stung you or your family. However the solution would not just be to take out the whole nest - but to take out all the nests (even ones that hadn't stung you yet) in the area.

Can we do that? No, we cannot carpet bomb Muslim nations until they are more afraid of us than the terrorists (thats how we got all Germans to blame the Nazi's like they were a different nation or something).

However, eventually these folks will nuke or cause a similar level of joy in one of our cities - and then the gloves will come off.

We have been remarkably restrained so far.

Think about it - all the bleeding hearts worried for our poor muslims after 9/11 - and what happened -> one poor Sikh was mistaken for a muslim and killed by some idiot out West. Wish people took the Jew killing in Seattle that seriously.

A US or Israeli city gets destroyed by these guys (Iranians) -and there won't be any restraints on retaliation. The same useful idiots who worry about our Muslims - fight the military on nuclear bunker busters and other such tactical technologies. Our (or the Israeli) response will be to nuke Tehran and all the other major sites in Iran. Millions will die.
