"People of conscience" is a term referring to those who have reflected on their beliefs and attempt to act according to them in a consistent way. It implies character and integrity. I would consider most of the people here to fit that definition, even when my conscience may lead me in a different direction.

There has been some implications here that people who don't always see eye to eye with the admin on the WOT just haven't seen the light yet and worse, that they lack character and integrity (this is mostly in ref to the dem politicians). My use of the term was to suggest that there are people who are acting in good conscience just not in tandem with the general belief here.

Here are a couple of excerpts that utilize the term:

I fully realize that there may be some people of good conscience and good will who will see things differently and feel there are better solutions or better ways of looking at things.

If we need people of "ordinary sense and understanding", how are we to develop these people in the military forces?
People of "ordinary sense and understanding are, in fact, people of conscience and character.
