And the fact that Syria STILL REJECTS the existence of Lebanon as a country means that Hizbullah was acting as a Syrian proxy aimed at denying Lebanon its sovereignty.


No, it doesn't mean that. It means that Hezbollah believed the Neocon connivance to push Syria out of Lebanon was setting the table for Israel to invade Lebanon. Guess what? They were right.

It's worth noting that Syria's occupation of Lebanon was requested by Lebanon and green-lighted by Israel and the U.S. It's also worth noting that Syria's occupation of Lebanon was beneficial to Lebanon. They politically stabilized a chaotic country, and fostered an economic boom.
