Yes, well, there's a lot of context here, both short term and long term. The post you were responding to when you came in to the discussion, Message 22696435 , was in response to Message 22696135 , which is sufficiently off the wall that I have no idea what to say about it. In terms of editorial policy, that other bastion o f the dreaded liberal press, the Washington Post, is probably a better example in the cheerleading department, what with Bob Woodward's laudatory books on the war president. The real problem with all the maligned MSM is that they depend way too much on "official" sources, which puts them at the mercy of manipulation by Rove and Co. Again, Woodward has to be the iconic example of that.
