because ... - the uninitiated thought that the USD ought to rise when Europe is under attack by folks willing to die in the act of attacking - airlines will use less fuel - oil price will decrease given fewer passenger miles - and a lot of other nonsense that puts gold in the same equation as oil and USD so, recommendation is as before, buy gold, because oil will head up again, and dollar will do what all fiat currencies do.
