Ted, I see......you feel because the Israelis are Jewish and very much like us that its not surprising we are in the pickle we are in. Is that right? It's more than that. Israel represents Western culture. And Western culture has been heavily influenced by Judeo-Christian ideals and traditions. It doesn't matter if you are neither a Jew nor a Christian. It's just the way Western society is. Sorry, your explanation doesn't wash. The Lebanese are as influenced by western culture as the Israelis. Before its civil war, Beirut was famed as the Paris of the ME. If fact, a portion of the Lebanese population is Christian.
