Several things, Euterpe...but thanks for hanging in and presenting your thoughts. After all, that's what most of us are here for....to learn what others think, and by doing so, realizing what we ourselves really think about an issue...at least that's why I hang around...

Re August 22, who knows really, until August 23. But the opinion from Bernard Lewis in the WSJ certainly gave it some gravity for me...

Re the North Korea Report maybe even 5 minutes of your time. I think you will find it interesting, both from a historical reference, and as a guide to why we are where we are today.

I think you are correct with this observation: Somehow the WOT has become conflated with the Iraq War and opposition to Iraq taken for a denial of the WOT.

I tend to read the folks on SI as if we were in a large salon, just discussing the events of the day. I value their opinions (most of them anyway.)

However, I don't see the real Opinion Makers in our country who are "anti-war" as being FOR the WOT. What I'd love to see is perhaps 10 of them who are "a-w" and FOR the WOT.....but so far, I haven't noticed who they are....

Any light you could shed on who these people are and where I could find their actual comments would be welcomed...
