Actually, there was an article on thestreet.com last week that said a whole bunch of SV companies would probably end up on the pink sheets unless the NASDAQ halts listing requirements.

The problem with the options backdating is that it takes time to restate the last 7 years of earnings to account for the truth. and during that time, current earnings reports (without lies) can't be made.

Not reporting earnings on a quarterly basis is grounds for being delisted from the nasdaq in about 6 months time- tops. Those companies will then have two choices: cease to be traded at all, which will basically destroy them, or go to think pink sheets where you basically have no reporting requirements. (which is why the vast majority of pink sheet stocks are pure scams)

So I'd say that's definitely more likely than icebergs on the sun. But for people with small minds, it's hard to imagine big changes especially when they haven't happened yet. I mean, who could have guessed Enron, Businesweek's "fastest growing company" for 4 years straight, would have turned out to be a fraud? Who would have guessed the dot.coms weren't actually making any profits? Who would have guessed water was wet?
