as someone who lives very close to unifab and who tried to participate in the ipo at this point in time it is overvalued.it is a fundementally sound but small company with excellent management though it is very dependent uponits ceo daily berard.the issue has been hyped in the local lafayette paper and a lot of the buying has been local due to the booming nature of the economy in lousiana right now especially in the oil patch.unifab is severely constrained by the lack of trained and experienced labor due to boom conditions.its further expansion is going to be dependent up[on dredging a channel to take 6000 ton rigs from its plant in new iberia this will take time.most experienced investors in the lafayette area believe it has got way ahead of itself and believe that it will become a buy at around 25$ .unifab is absolutely not worth 40 $ a share right now though it may reach that target again perhaps within a year and possibly longer.there are plenty of other companies in the oil patch which are not so overvalued including some more ipos which probably will not be so overhyped as unifab. arh
