OK, I see where you're coming from.

Re. the idealogical crusade, you're wrong about something. The US and the western world are the target of one. Whether we like it or not. Not everyone recognizes it yet. It will take a lot more lives lost for that to sink in.

disaster for the US. Read: 1) Oil prices

You haven't seen anything yet. Wait till the nuclear showdown with Iran. And it will come whether we want it to or not. And I don't know if you realize it - but the sooner it comes (even if it is BAD) the better, because if we let it be forced on us is will be WORSE.

2) World respect and influence

World opinion is worthless. Almost always wrong about everything. Always has been.

3) World respect for our military

When the US pulled Saddam out of a hole, Gaddafi soon decided to give up his nuclear weapons program. (Unfortunately, the Iranians and Kim Jong Il have more backbone.) Charles Taylor decided to go into retirement, Syria decided to pull out of Lebanon. Those results connote respect for our military.

4) Dramatic deficit spending

Thankfully the deficit is getting smaller. Yes, I know its too big.

5) A much less "safe" world

If the west had overturned fascism in Spain and invaded Italy and overthrown Mussolini in the 1930's, would the world have been a little safer? Even given that it was headed for world war? Yeah, a little.
