Mr FakeDija, seemingly in sheer ecstasy, replies: >>--Piglet, I am only too happy to respond.....
Why am I not surprised? ;---)
>>are you by chance familiar with Colleen McCullough's historical novels on Ancient Rome?
No, which shocks me, since Ancient Rome is one of my favorite interests. It could be because of novels, vs pure historical content.
When I stood inside the Coliseum, I could just picture the lions tearing the liberal democrats to shreds. (I only mention the fight between 2 gladiators, Bob Brinker and his opponent to stay on topic)
>>One of the main characters in a couple of the books is an aristocrat named Metellus Pius. According to McCullough, this Metellus guy (who is, overall, a very admirable person) had a nickname of "Piglet."
Mmmmm! So far, I would say pretty factual! ;---)
Aristocratic, admirable. I'm not too happy about being a secondary figure, but you have to deal with what life gives you.
I did a Google search for Rome-Piglet and Metellus Pius , and I found that her books are all 5* rated, and seem to be translated into several languages.
I may have to read some of them. Thanks for the lead. |
