Yes, jack, Israels problem seems more a delima than a problem. My older daughter (who went to Berkekely and Loyola law school) can only offer:"I want the fighting to stop.

My younger daughter working on degrees in environmental science at U of Oregon and U of New Zealand feels the only option Israel has is to move.

The only reason I go into detail about my children is that they are both good thinkers and have great compassion. But neither have real answers.

I also have no answers.

Is is hard for the jews to leave Israel for several reasons:

1) during the second world war, no country would take in the jews, so Hitler killed almost all of them. Remember the ship full of jews going around the world trying to find a country to take them in and no country would. They sailed back to Germany and were all killed.

2) The German jewish orphans had jewish families in the US that were willing to take them in, but 96% of the people in the US were against it. RACISM!

3) Israel is their natural homeland and spiritual land. 60% of jews are from the middle east and they speak hebrew.

Anti semitism and hatred of the jews in the middle east is very real and as irrational as one would think. The great movie "A gentlemans Agreement" with Gregory Peck pointed out the anti semitism in our own country.

Israel does have one huge trump card. Their nuclear weapons. My guess is if things get really bad, they will tell guys like Mamoud and Nasrulla and other middle east rulers that if the rockets do not stop they will use them.

I am quite sure they would do that rather than die.

As some say: If the Hezbolla laid down their arms, there would be no more fighting. If Israel laid down their arms there would be no more Israel.
