I hope you will forgive me from taking leave before commenting on the article. My husband has returned from the video store with something I hope will put me in a better frame of mind, "A Room With a View," Merchant-Ivory costume drama.

It always has cheered me up in the past, and I hope to return in a better frame of mind tomorrow.

At the present I am feeling rather bloody minded. Total strangers look at me with fear and wonder in their eyes, it must show on my face.
