Scott -It sucks- I feel for you...

Folks who work the trenches slugging it out keeping the faith through thick and thin are to be admired and respected. Just don't let the board of directors make fools out of you for your dedication and trust. That kind of abuse of power is unforgiveble. Schimdt and the BOD should grant a significant option package to all who remain faithful to the mothership - A sign of his appreciation would be a welcome boost. Maybe it can't be done but damn it must be tough working under the pressure and conditions. Is it worth it?

The managerial gaffs that led to this situation from an investors point of view are depressing. They truely are the object of all of our frustrations. One can not deny that the miscalculations have been enourmous and were the situation not so serious it would be laughable.
Take for instance the Joe Marengi(SP?) gets a new job at Dell in a flash... He joins with the stock at 110 and it 6 months later trades 200 (Split adjusted) he is up $80 per optioned share. He has about 500,000 in my estimation (If not more) so he has about a 40 million dollar profit. How have the employees of Novell faired in comparison?

Even management at Novell is not immune - Schmidt has given up tens of millions in option profits as SUN has soared since he left.

No one said life was fair.... But If I were you and I would examine very carefully the lost career benefits and stock options you could enjoy at another booming firm....How much has it already cost you to stick with Novell?

Get an MSCE and team it with your MCNE and go get another $20,000 in pay immediately at a company who can use your talent today - you can't be realizing your full potential under the circumstances at Novell. Be selfish (Unless you have 900,000 share of 1 cent a share stock) and have a look around. Things are great across almost everywhere but Novell. MCNE folks with an MSCE - its a very marketable combo - It isn't a deal with the devil - its empowerment. Control your own destiny look around generate choices then make up your mind. Even if you stay at Novell the exercise is always liberating.

From an investor point of view I hope you and all like you stay and maintain the value that lies behind the stock - hardwork and dedication to a fallen hero - one we all respected, envied, and secretly wished we worked for back in the glory days.... I hope you get back from Novell all you surely have put into the company. I don't understand your dedication but I do respect it.

Jim
