It's much more realistic to think that whoever implements the coup that unseats Musharraf will also immediately seize control of the nuclear assets. The idea that WE could quickly move in and secure them is ludicrous - just use our intelligence as to Iraq's WMD's as a reference point.

The only comfort is that the next leader of Pakistan will probably be another high ranking member of the current military. We can only hope he's as sane or saner than Musharraf, who after all, did allow (or encourage) AQ Khan to proliferate nuclear technology.
