I wouldn't use the term idealist to describe would-be mass murderers. the recent thwarted attack on planes were just some young misguided muslim idealists wanting to strike back at the many injuries and deaths caused in the countries where they live. The conspirators were all of Pakistani origin, not Iraqi. And the US and Britain have inflected no injuries and death on Pakistan. Almost certainly is was an operation where the intelligence services put them up for the job. Certainly it wasn't. The idea is insane. Rather then putting out the terrorist fire though, we seem to like to panic, overreact and become hysterical. That's your opinion. I find the tendency to sympathetically idealize people who'd like to murder you and your family and reflexively blame own's one society for their hatred, very strange psychologically - a mass breakout of the Stockholm syndrome. -------------------- Would you and you family allow spent DU munitions to corrode away within a mile of where you live? I've heard of no Iraqis complaining about this, only westerners who want to abandon Iraq. And if there were Iraqis complaining about nearby DU, I'd be willing for our gov't to help in a local remediation effort, much like the mine-clearing that has taken place in Afghanistan. And btw DU has nothing to do with the recent terror attacks. I would like to see this stoopid "terrorist wars" go away. That is very evident. But wishing will not make terrorism go away. It seems blatantly obvious to me though we are stirring up a terrorist war. It is obvious to me that a terror war against the west has been building for decades. Ignoring it merely encouraged it.
