I trust American prosecution of American war criminals far more than I trust any international tribunal getting such authority over American soldiers. Their would be risk of prosecution of essentially political reasons, for not agreeing with a particular war, and thinking any aggressive prosecution of an "unjust war" is a "war crime", if some international body had such authority. In addition to this potentially negative consequences I don't see much if anything on the positive side. I don't think any international body would do a better job than the current UCMJ enforcement.
