OT: I understand the sentiment. I started to vote as soon as I became old enough, but couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the mainstream parties until I was well into my 30s. I've still never voted for a candidate who won at the provincial or national level. Elections themselves may be fair and honest, but the real problems with the American political system lie in candidate selection, which is largely controlled by money, lust for power, and entrenched interests. Add in the scandalous and unconscionable manner in which electoral districts are gerrymandered by sitting politicians, and you have an ugly situation. No wonder voter turnout continues to decrease. How many incumbents get defeated in primaries, much less elections? How many members of your Senate and House of Representatives are not very rich? This is not to say we don't have problems with our political systems here in Canada, but my mind boggles when I see what you guys are dealing with. LC
