I find that the Politics for Pros thread is the most civil discussion area that I've tried. Mary Cluney's (not Clooney) comments got a mild retort from LindyBill. She also got a rephrasing of her post from me, which she said she appreciated. But that's what discussion groups are for! Else why bother at all?

If you want to see flaming, just compare some of the left wing threads. Here's one for you: Subject 55094

Politics for Pros is civil to civil disagreement while some of these lefty threads are savage indeed. I've been there, and I know. I know myself as a pretty moderate person wanting to see both sides. I've been banned and ignored for stating the most absurdly moderate concepts. Baiting is a favorite activity over there. They lure you in with chummy chat and strike when you are not looking.

I'm fine with disagreement, but I want to talk with people in a civil manner, and I get that here. Thanks to LindyBill. It's a civil discussion thread, one of few, I'm afraid.

I don't think you really want an unbiased place where folks can share opinions. I think you want people who agree with you.
