Elroy, If it were, you wouldn't have all the enemies of Israel resisting the existence of Israel.

Of course the enemies of Israel don't think it's silly to argue against the 1948 resolution. As long as there are people in the world who agree with them, they'll argue it as much as it benefits them.

I don't agree with them or their logic.

Please elaborate on why you disagree with them and their logic. Do you think a region which has for centuries had many peoples of various religions and various ethnicities living in it should be changed via a violent war into a Jewish homeland, and it should then be accepted as such by the non-Jews in the region?

Capitalist USA doesn't "accept" communist Cuba even though Cuba was transformed via a violent war to communism ~50 years ago. We try convert it back to capitalism. Do you disagree with capitalist USA and its logic on the Cuba issue?

If Israel were a 2nd Japanese homeland (a la Japreal, with Tarohito as the emperor), which had became Japreal via a violent war in 1948, would you expect the Arabs to accept it, or would you expect them to resist?

What exactly about the non-Jews and their logic doesn't make sense to you? I think the non-Jews' reaction to Israel is entirely normal. It's similar to the reaction to be expected of any people living in a multi-cultural region where one group declared the region to be their homeland, and not the homeland for the other people who live there.
