My opinion of him had been formed a long time ago. I had joined MoveOn.org but quit when I began reading their newsletters and of their activities (stuff like comparing Bush to Hitler). Extremism to me is the pursuit of a goal to the point it becomes obsessive. He once said his primary goal, one he would give all his wealth for, was to defeat Bush.

I had read about his business practices and found some of them pretty rapacious. As he said, you can't apply morality to business- and he didn't.
Since I am not a true liberal, his support of liberal causes never swayed me. I didn't like ACT and its tactics.

However, I admit I formed these opinions based not on any indepth study of the man himself but because of the associations and actions I read about in the news and through his organizations.
