We used it for surveying calculations, but not for the kind that required precision. I carried a little 6 inch rule in my pocket to provide printing estimates that were always within a few bucks of actual. Close enough for field work.

My wife bought me the first hand held calculator Radio Shack came out with. $350 and it was nearly as big as a cordless telephone. I was the envy of my peers. I just bot one at Wal Mart for my glove compartment and paid $4. It does everything the RS did.
