Depends on what you mean by 'freedom'.... If you are talking about ECONOMIC FREEDOM then Hong Kong and Singapore consistently rank FAR AHEAD of the US in 'freedom'. (Lower taxes, greater freedom of capital formation, etc.) If you are talking about financial freedom... then Austria, Panama, and Switzerland (to name a few) rank considerably ahead of the US in that regard. If you are talking about individual freedoms in society... the the Netherlands or Iceland might well come ahead of the US in that area too. :-)
