Never got to Korea, thankfully. I was in boot camp when the 1st Marine Division returned from Korea. All my surveying was in the good old USA. Interestingly, though, I was sent to the Army Corps of Engineers in Virginia for my survey school. We surveyed some of the same benchmarks that were established by George Washington in the earliest days of our nation. So much history in that area.
