Re: "make no mistake about it, don't kid yourself..." Is that your only comment to my long post? Did Catholicism and Protestantism 'unite' to rule the world? (Or did Western concepts of secularism and freedom of religion in civil society arise out of the long nightmarish series of wars they fought against each other?) About the only thing can can even temporarily unite Shi'ism and Sunnism is the presence of 'Crusaders' in their midst that they can blame things on. :-)
