I've been wondering the same thing.

WRT wild lawsuits, though, I have to tell you that
we once defended a major retailer against a claim
for wrongful death brought in propria persona
by the alleged victim.

As I recall, the allegations went something like this

After they arrested me for shop lifting, I literally died....
