I'm surprised you would say that. Look how far the GOP has come and they still don't have a plan.
For all of its faults and missteps, this administration has done more to tear down the old system of corrupt governments in an effort to introduce democratic reform AS AN OPTION to region than any other administration previous to is.
At least they had the guts to acknowledge that with Saddam's regime in power, the hope of any democratic reform in the region would never find a foot-hold.
Furthermore, this administration has done more to stiffen the spine of the UN, in the face of tremendous opposition from other members, in order to "shame it" into doing what it's charter was designed and intended to do.
Had the UN, and the various members of the UNSC, done their jobs properly instead of indulging in endless debate and avoidance of the inevitable, we wouldn't be facing many of these problems.
Only in the face of combined international pressure will we see regimes like Saddam's Iraq, and Ahmadinejad's Iran, or even Kim's North Korea.. etc, behave themselves and be responsive to finding a responsible place in the international community.
And to add to this, even in the case of the Israelis and Palestinians and Lebanese, the UNSC needs to step forward and take on its responsibilities and stop displaying the kind of weakness and irresolute manner than only encourages aggression.
But I'm still waiting for the Democrats to present a basic strategy, let alone display the spine to implement it.
And I'm still seeing you criticize, rather than present your own alternative solutions.
