The fires were only 600 degrees centigrade.
Not nearly enough to melt steel.


Steel does not have to melt in order to bend.
600 degrees c. is beyond red-hot.

One the floor truss begin to expand and bend, then their attachments would break. Without lateral support, the weakened side walls would be prone to bending (as was shown 15 seconds into this video)
