Intel will have SLOT 2 for Deschutes, incompatible with SLOT 1 (That way they can sell a Deschutes upgrade module to replace your Pentium II for an extra $200 over price of Deschutes). And you thought you could just plug in a Deschutes 400 MHz into your Pentium II motherboard? He he he

I believe you are wrong here John. Please provide a link to where
Intel says that Deschutes will REQUIRE slot2. I've never seen such a
claim. Slot1 will be around for a long time.
