If someone makes a statement as inane as his or something like "the earth is flat", its reasonable to either ignore it or just call it nonsense.

But his statement wasn't inane. There is a fine line between military defense and military aggression. The Bush administration has crossed that line on at least couple of occasions.....with very litttle qualms. The truth is you don't know what's in the hearts and minds of the people who currently run this gov't. And reading the writings of the neoconservatives who dominate this administration does not reassure me.

If he actually makes a detailed argument, I might be tempted in to breaking down why the argument is a bunch of nonsense, but if he's simply going to make an assertion that is both ridiculous and totally unsupported, than his gratuitous assertion can be gratuitously denied.

Tim, it is much more difficult to stop the fall of a democracy once it has started..........it is much easier to nip it in the bud before it happens. People are on alert for such an eventuality all over this country. If you want to believe that Bush is business as usual, then go for it, but don't try to diminish or denigrate those who don't agree with you. Things in this country have been anything but normal since 2000.
