Each proof I ordered from the Mint came in its own hard plastic case. There's no need for further protection. Each also came in a nice box. I'm gonna have to put all of the plastic covered coins in a baggie and take them to the bank. The boxes take up way too much room for a safety deposit box.

I ordered some regular buffalos from Tulving a few weeks ago that haven't arrived yet. They are apparently backordered. I don't know how they come packaged.
