Hi Kirk - I am finally at my break even point from when HPQ bought out my CPQ back when I invested in CPQ in October 1998. I believe the equivalent HPQ price s/b $36. It looks as HP has their cost under control (w/ their recent layoffs) but it is yet to be determined if the HP culture has survived. A good friend of mine has been w/ HP for over 20 years and his group has survived the cuts but he has yet to update me as to the current corporate culture from the new CEO.

There was no culture w/ Carley Fiorina, my friends department was just in survival mode. I suspect if CEO Mark Hurd can re-energise the "old" HP culture to allow innovative new product development, we could see an attempt at the old highs.

I will continue to hold my HP shares and hope I see $50 before I see $20.

EKS

PS You really need to lay back on that Brinker thread as the last 100 posts is just "gobbledygook" and a waste of SI resources.
