Real Life Scenario: A young college-grad doing the $40k-salary routine after one year saves up a $10k-gangsta-roll to take a stab at the BIG-BAD-STOCK-MARKET. He opens an account at E-TRADE and picks "investorshub.com" as the place he oughta be to pick a great stock and do his dd properly.
At the I-Hub home page he focuses in on the "Most Active" list in the center of the page. Now he's not interested in any IBM or some boring worm-farm-stock. "Most Active" sounds just right to him. And there he sees SLBJ and CSHD at the top of the most active list. He's heard that pinky-pennies are very high-risk so he passes over SLBJ quickly and notices that CSHD is SEC-compliant and trading well above .50, so he decides to do further research on CSHD at I-Hub.
In his pursuit of more info, he then proceeds to the CSHD-post-thread and is amazed to see so many information posts. After excitedly reading some 5 or 6 pages of CSHD-i-hub posts and fully absorbing the long-n-strong confidences of the majority of the posters there, he decides CSHD is the place he oughta be...so he loads up a CSHD-buy-order and hits the enter-key.
Now let's EXAMINE that VERY REAL scenario above as to EXACTLY what did our young college-grad just read?
The I-Hub CSHD board is moderated by 3 posters, Blue Sky Basin, oilstrike, and xlr8rs...not one with over 6 months as an active member...AND COMBINED...a cumulative total of 54 "membermarks".
The I-Hub CSHD board also has 6 "BANNED" posters that CANNOT post there, Modern Rock, EVO, nateeeeee, shakerzzz, DCschmoeka, and Rawnoc...each with close to two years or more as active members...AND COMBINED...a cumulative total of 3,368 "membermarks".
You do the math on that GROSS OBSCURITY of ANY BALANCED TRUTH in overall-postings our newby-investor-college-grad was just subjected to. A bit overwhelming, UH HUH! I can tell you without any reservations that the next time someone asks me if I-Hub is a good source of stock-info, I will respond with,
"Yes it is, but be dog-gone cautious of the GROSS OBSCURITIES of ANY SEMBLANCE OF BALANCED TRUTH actually supported by the two I-Hub walkin bosses, Matt and grubmaster....they do NOT POLICE their own selected board-moderators!" |
