So, why are we fighting for the Islamics in Iraq, Ichy?

The short answer, because George had to pick a country to devastate in order to remind the Muslims that the US had real power and that it wasn't safe to attack. He could choose Iran, or Iraq. The US had lost Face in both countries, because both countries could claim to have beaten the US, Iraq by the fact that the US failed to depose Saddam the first time around, and Iran, when they took over the US Embassy. Saddam was bragging about his weapons of Mass Destruction so he was easiest to explain.

It should have been short, bloody and neat, but once again the US allowed the Media to dictate the war. Instead of picking a side to rule that best suited US interests, George got all involved with democracy, and his enemies the Shia are the majority. What a dumb move.....
