On one the the baseball stats research engines they have a quote on Buckner "A great player whose legacy is one error - how terribly unfair"

I think he also suffers from playing for too many teams - Dodgers, Cubs, Royals, Angels, and Boston. If you are a Roger Clemens, you can do that....but journeyman players like Buckner are never "top of mind" when the sportwriters go to vote.

Maybe some day - he certainly has the numbers.
