For me, front month puts were very painful tuition. I have not taken that bait for years which has allowed very good profits from puts. I try to always keep a few months between me and expiration. When positions are really working( like the homies over the last year or so) I roll them down the strike scale and out the duration scale and leverage up as puts get well in the money.

Missed adding to WCI today but did get filled on some Dec QQQQ 39 puts which I expect to be useful soon.
