Thank you for your detailed response. If I was a put writer for asnd for example, and I wrote sep 40puts I am hoping the contract never is exercised, right? Then I would retain all of the premium. At the end of the day "last friday" it sound like you said 91 percent of the contract were never exercised even though they were in the money. It seems that the put buyer would have exercised all those options, unless the put buyer and seller were the same person?? Am I making this more confusing than it actually is?
