OK Sylvester other than changing their tactics, right now they go in destroy a bunch of stuff, kill a couple of people, and then go back and do it all again next week. the palestinians do what they can, kill a few jews for allah and then wait for the Israelis to retaliate.... That is the status quo.
If Israel is to go to war with Syria, and it has to go to war with Syria, they don't need to be worrying about the palestinians. there are two options make peace or don't make peace. Since the palestinians have no desire for peace, there are two options, live with the status quo, or fix the problem. There are once again two options, go in and try to settle things in a measured response which they know is already doesn't work, or go in and clean house, and get peace for 5 or 10 years. So I figure the best option for Israel to do is to go in and clean house.
I like the first option, make peace, I just don't see any desire on the part of Hamas in this case to do so. So if there is no evidence that Hamas would make a peace agreement as Egypt did and keep the peace, logically there is only one outcome.
It seems sad, but it is in keeping with what I know of Islam. Killing your enemy is a valid and holy option in Islam and by deciding to kill Muslims we are in a way honoring their religion, by not allowing ourselves to be killed. The problem is that war means you become more like your enemy, by learning to kill we are adjusting to Islam. |
