Globe says partnership agreement signed with CompUSA

Sidus Systems Inc SSM
Shares issued 6,500,000 Sep 23 close $4.17
Wed 24 Sept 97 In the News
The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, September 24, edition that
Sidus Systems' stock has moved up from $3 earlier this month on word that
the computer maker has a major new deal that may double its revenue, chief
operating officer Andrew Nellestyn said. The Globe's Market movers column
says he confirmed the speculation telling Dow Jones that the company has
executed a partnership agreement under which it will build computers in its
Austin facility for US computer retailer CompUSA Inc. Mr Nellestyn says
Sidus will become the company's factory and CompUSA will become the
marketing, sales and distribution arm of the endeavour to take Dell
Computer Corp and company on. CompUSA and Sidus will split profits or
losses.

Selection as one of CompUSA's private label manufacturers confirmed

Sidus Systems Inc SSM
Shares issued 6,500,000 Sep 23 close $4.17
Wed 24 Sept 97 News Release
Mr Al Muzar reports
Sidus has confirmed speculation that the company has been selected as one
of a number of private label manufacturers for CompUSA's recently announced
build-to-order computer sales program. Sidus expects to start shipping
computers under the program at the end of September or in early October of
1997. While Sidus hopes the program will lead to sales increases in the
future, there are no volume commitments on the part of CompUSA under the
contract, no current order backlog and no commitment on the part of CompUSA
to use Sidus rather than other suppliers. Accordingly, while Sidus has
incurred costs in expanding its US facilities in recent periods to support
its attempts to grow its US private label business, Sidus is unable to
offer any forecast of the impact of this contract on Sidus' sales or
profitability at this stage.
