Notice that our "barking dog" Sarman, has not chosen to respond to such a simple question as that.. ;0) He constantly derides US Foreign Policy, but it was BUSH who has made a vain attempt to preserve Lebanon's democratic government in the face of this atrocious and blatant subversion of Lebanon's government by Syria and Iran. It was BUSH who sought a Chapter VII UNSC resolution that would have disarmed Hizbullah and restored Lebanon's sovereign control over its territory, as well as its internal and external security to Lebanon's legitimate military. And it was the French and other Arab states which scoffed at permitting the UNSC to play such a role in preserving Lebanon as a viable soveign state, and what has resulted is probably the death-knell of Lebanon as an indepedent state. But hopefully Bush still has a few "aces" up his sleeve that will achieve a more positive result for the people of Lebanon, as well as Israel. But I'm not holding my breath. The international community, as represented by the UN has, once more, failed the values inherent in its charter. Hawk
