Jeffrey, I'm new to this thread and to investing, and will admit right now that I am a former NN employee. A few of those I worked with will recognize the name, so I want to get this out of the way. Leaving NN was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever made, and for highly personal reasons which I'll not go into. In case anyone is wondering (or cares) I don't have access to any information of any type that anyone else on the outside has, other than my opinions.
I've also been following several other threads (COMS, ASND...) and am amazed by the apparent lack of respect (or concern) that posters to the other threads give to NN. No-one seems to notice. As you have stated more than once in the past couple of weeks, NN has recently landed some MAJOR business (BT and MCI), the stock price has soared, and no-one seems concerned. What gives? Is this because NN is Canadian-owned? It shouldn't matter if they are Martian-owned - as long as they increase shareholder value. I think 40%+ since June constitutes increasing value.
I've witnessed in the last few weeks what I always knew would come about at NN - an explosion of ATM business, and I sense that it will continue. Carriers are under pressure to upgrade due to the explosion of internet traffic, and IMHO (OK...perhaps biased) NN leads the way. Maybe the lack of concern by the others is a good thing for NN as they land more business, as I suspect they will. As another poster pointed out, what will AT&T and the Bells do???
I've paid particular attention to your posts and responses, and sense that you are one of the few not out to belittle others (if I need a good laugh, I visit the ASND thread;0) -seems as though they spend more time whining than contributing) - only to share pertinent information. I'm a novice, don't really understand calls and puts, longs and shorts, but want to know more. Any suggestions?
Onwards and Upwards, NN! -Larry |
