but making Israel an unpleasant place to live, and the IDF an unpleasant organization to be drafted into has an effect on Israel.

Some may leave, but there are more Israelis, IMO, determined to stay because they know if they can be chased out of their ancestral homeland, they will not be safe anywhere.

Let's not forget that Israelis have a deep-set understanding of the anti-semitism that exists in the world around them. And that's the reason, for the most part, that they chose to settle in Israel in the first place.

But you're right in one respect, they don't like "stalemates", nor the possibility that their families might have to live with the constant hazard of rockets being fired upon them from behind a shield of UN forces.

So don't mistake this lack of morale you're seeing as evidence that Israelis are throwing in the towel. What they want, as do Americans, is a full-blown, kick their @sses and come home, type of national policy.
