Thanks for the raise...I may need it while waiting for the rest of the world to discover Ramtron, which we might expect in mid-'98. Right now RMTR shares are reverting to the rally-to-top-trendline pattern, which is only too familiar. So, it could be that Mike G's events are now pretty well discounted; despite that, Ramtron could surprise the street in '98.

Longer term, the ESDRAM concept could be ideal for embedded memory, and the last Forbes ASAP has yet another futurology essay by George Gilder that reveals an embedded gospel...it seems that interfaces like Rambus can't be the ultimate design nirvana, since the speed of light limitation dictates the 'system-on-a-chip' proposed by National and Cyrix. Actually, I would tend to agree that NSM has the right idea -- and they should get on better terms with Ramtron, which has the lowest latency.

Smart cards are the 'revolution waiting in the wings', according to Walter Wriston, and I see plenty of news releases about trials, standard setting, technology deals, etc. Still, I don't know when the numbers will show up at Ramtron in a dramatic way. Racom may have found a nice niche in manufacturing process control (what happened to TransCash?...nothing shows at Perot Systems website) and they might extend that to medical charts, say, at hospitals. I think that someone else should check that point...there might be some leverage in RCOM, for all I know.

And, lastly, we both give sources for our 'chatter', and Mike can check 'em if he wants...

Regards, Logan
