Druse leader Jumblatt attacks Hizbolla yesterday--says its time for them to choose between joining lebanon or contuing their alliance with perfidious syria while being a tool of iran. Strong words and others have echoed it. Did you see the pictures of hizbolla giving out 12k in greenbacks to homeless shiaa. Thats iranian cash flowing in and its available because of $70 oil. And across the Gulf, our allies the Saudis continue to buy off the Wasabis with their $70 oil too. I thought Bilow was on to something but then misses the point entirely about the other face of assymetric warfare. You mentioned M.A.D earlier. Its seems that everyone has forgotten how mutual deterrence worked in the cold war. Its unstable and peace is preferable but there comes a point with deterrence when you have to prove you have the stones to use the nukes. Strap-on pal terror or kidnappings or ball bearing bombs or dug in positions on the arab side of a border wont have any meaning at all if Assymetics turns into first use of nukes. The Lebanon war may lead to Bibi back in office and this so-called hizbolla victory may become a footnote over what goes on over the next 10 years. Unfortunatly I think Ichy has been making some decent predictions as to where this all will lead. Not a place, we would want, but it seems that hiz and pals, flush for their phyrric victories and with their left wing euro supporters in tow, will move exactly in the wrong direction as they seem to always do.
