Yes Americans are watching the Middle East, and ignoring the problem that when China controls world production and world prices China not the US will call the shots. China already controls the world price of steel, and the world production of steel, it can at any moment and on a whim, bankrupt the North american steel producers, which is why so many Steel producers now belong to foreign nations. As control of one industry after another is lost, the US loses control of it's economy. Look at the disaster of the American Owned Auto industry, unable to adapt, or compete, and unwilling to meet the needs of the emerging energy crisis. Now their costs of production in particular steel will be controlled from China....
