think they said Veta Clara and Santa Clarita host gold in veins, which is likely far higher grade than what they were looking for at GC. It would likely be a lot cheaper to get a high grade underground mine into production than building a large heap leach at GC, as GC would require a new mill to process the gold. Material from VC or SC could be put directly into the existing mill.

For a company of CMM's size and finances, probably makes more sense to look for low tonnage, high grade deposits first. And then use the cash flow to build a heap leach mine later on if results indicate.

But it was somewhat surprising not to hear them mention anything about GC until specifically asked about it. Perhaps initial sample results aren't too encouraging. Or perhaps VC and SC simply look far more tasty now they've had a chance to look.
