Yeah, but in the meantime, we get to go through another 1970s-like national malaise of weakness, self-doubt, isolationism and protectionism while the Islamo-fascists and Castro-wannabes of the world run amok, and the socialist-sympathizing left wing talks incessantly about the impending collapse of capitalism, the need for reform of government to enable the people's representatives in Congress to exercise more control over the executive, and how we need central planning, if not outright nationalization, of key industries like energy, more regulation of the media and similar nonsense.

I hope I'm overstating things.
