I found out about Garden State on the internet after seeing that Braff had a blog about it. My friend and I went to see it at the Lagoon in Minneapolis. It was the only theater showing it at the time. I walked out of theater thinking it was quite possibly the best movie I'd ever seen. A few weeks later the movie caught on, and it was subsequently brought out to the multiplexes. Braff and I are about the same age. I instantly felt connected with him and his role in that movie. And I completely fell in love with Natalie Portman. Her portrayal of Sam was irresistible. These days when I meet a gal I'd like to date she just has to have enjoyed Garden State. Otherwise it's a deal-breaker. She might as well be a Bush backer... heh
