You need to read the whole chapter, not just the first verses. And then you'll understand that the LORD will protect those that are of his word. He will fight, but it will be the power of the LORD over those who have defiled the word. The way he "fights" and who shall be stricken by the LORD is fully described further in the chapter. This certainly is not an endorsement of fighting by Zechariah as you put forth. Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
