Verity is like some NASCAR Teams. They have a very good car, good pit crew and mechanics but had a driver that kept wrecking the car every weekend. Once they get a good driver the company will be back in winners circle. If it's going to be put up for sale once all the wrecked parts are tossed out, then someone gets a pretty good team for cheap. Kind of a stupid comparison but sort of puts things in perspective for me. One thing that cannot be predicted (even by Kumar) is the group of nerds in one of the departments management didn't screw up comming up with something very hot and very profitable. Kind of like the IBM chip mfg annoucment, just when everyone started believing Moses really got his tablets from Intel wham, the nerds at IBM emerge from their cubicles with a gift for Lou and his shareholders.
